Hooray, it's my birthday! But it's also time for the yearly update on the status of NW...

First of all, the forums have received a major overhaul, and should now be ready to face the humongous hoards of NW-deprived players who are lurking in the shadows, just waiting for the right moment to leap forward with their claws all extended to rip the shard apart by the seams for taking so long to materialize.

Secondly... wait, there is no secondly! That's all for now, folks.

Little new concerning the shard itself - though I'm working on a few interesting scripts at the moment in relation to thieves/guards-interaction and fistfighting/wrestling - but at least all the pages on this website now validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict with the exception of the forum page, which wouldn't work the way I wanted it to if I tried to use an XHTML doctype there.

The page should now be viewable in most resolutions. I went as low as 640x480 checking, where the forum has to be opened in a new page on it's own to be really readable - and as high as 1280x1024, where the forum looks fine nested in the website. In 1600x1200 or above the font might be a tad small, but hey - that's why your browser has a zoom-function. And if it doesn't: Get Opera already!

I guess it really says everything when the previous news update on this page occured almost a year ago, and was about the "new layout" of the webpage back then. And when this news update concerns the newer layout of the webpage, go figure... I could always remove the older news items, but the page looks so empty then. *wry smile*

The funny thing is that neither of these news posts are up on the real NW site - which is down, only on the temporary site I put up just to test my previous layout (which sucked donkey ass). So by the time the real NW site is back up and running, this will perhaps be an old post which has gone unread by everyone.

In any case; Work on NW continues in the shadows, and we're slowly making progress. We've got no haste in completing the project, seeing as by now everyone who ever waited for it will either have forgotten all about it or have given up long since. So we'll just keep on working on it at our own pace, and it'll be done when it's done.

In a sudden urge of creativity, I've attemted to change the layout and functionality of this website a bit (Hopefully for the better.). I have also moved all news-items older than January 1st 2004 to the News Archive.

Finally tiring of EZboard's Ad-banners, both on the forum itself and in pop-up-form, I've converted the entire board to phpBB2 and am now hosting it myself (http://www.uox3.org/nwforum/index.php). This will also allow us more than 20 pages of threads per forum, yay! I have nightmares over how many threads have been lost over the years due to this Ezboard-limitation. But no more!

While all the registered users were also converted to the phpBB2 version of the forum, the passwords for said users were NOT. So if you wish to keep your old username on the new forum, you need to notify me somehow and I'll give you a temporary password with which you can login to your account. You can then change the password to something else, if you please. :)
